Buhari hasn’t looted $322m recovered Abacha loot – presidenc

Senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari  on media and publicity, Garba Shehu has said that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP is spreading lies against the president, will not wash away it’s corruption.
The presidency said this in a statement on Wednesday evening. According to Shehu, the PDP speaks ill of Buhari’s government, a strategy implored to normalise corruption.
This was in reaction to allegations by the opposition, that president Buhari has looted USD 322m recovered Abacha loot.
See full statement here
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has continued spreading lies about the Buhari administration in the mistaken assumption that its toga of corruption will dissipate if it succeeded in black painting every other person as corrupt.
The strategy is to make corruption appear as normative and that everyone is equally involved.
They think by so doing, Nigerians will forgive them for their sins. This is a huge mistake.
The PDP has become an ill-wind on the country today and the elections next year present the citizens an excellent opportunity to save the country from it.
We can’t imagine a sane organization shamelessly telling Nigerians that President Buhari is looting, as they themselves did of the recovered loot, the USD 322m lately recovered from the Abacha family. This is an irresponsible lie.
The USD 322m recovered is being used to make the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT of a monthly amount of N5,000 to more than 300,000 poor homes across the nation under the Social Investment Program introduced by the Buhari administration.
This is in line with the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the governments of Nigeria and Switzerland as a condition for releasing the funds.
As part of the MoU, the World Bank is monitoring the application of the funds.
It is also important that the World Bank has equally given an additional facility to support the on-going cash transfers.
Nigerians are hereby advised to be watchful of what comes out from the opposition, not to be misled into voting for a party that sees nothing wrong with corruption and would rather have everyone drenched in its colors, as they irretrievably are.

“After being knocked down by a van before the match, he was admitted to San Carlo hospital in code red,” wrote press agency AGI. “A long operation was not enough, his injuries were too serious.”
According to the Italian press, the incident occurred at the end of a fight between Napoli fans who had arrived at the stadium by minibus and Inter supporters armed with chains and hammers.
Around 60 people were involved in the fight and website Corriere della Sera reported that four Napoli fans were injured and that one of them was stabbed.
Inter Milan won the match 1-0, as Napoli had two players sent off late on.
The game was marred by racist chanting towards Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, with the away side asking for the match to be halted after the 27-year-old Senegalese international was repeatedly subjected to monkey noises.
The Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, made a public apology on Thursday, describing the racist chanting as a “shameful act” and asking Koulibaly’s forgiveness.

‘My Rivalry With Ronaldo Is Healthy’- Lionel Messi

Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has called his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo “healthy” and said it was good for the fans.
Ronaldo and Messi battled it out for over a decade in La Liga after the Portuguese star joined Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009.
They were both the dominant forces in Spain and world football for much of their time in La Liga, creating a rivalry like no other.
At Real Madrid, Ronaldo won the La Liga twice and lifted the Champions League four times.
Meanwhile, Messi has won an incredible nine La Liga titles (six of which were earned while Ronaldo was at Madrid) and also lifted the Champions League on four occasions.
MySportDab report Ronaldo’s spell in Spain ended when he signed for Italian club Juventus in the summer.
However, Messi has claimed that the pair’s time at the top of the game in Spain was a positive for football and for fans all over.
“The rivalry with Cristiano was very healthy and good for the fans,” the 31-year-old toldMarca.
In awards, Messi and Ronaldo have each won the Ballon d’Or five times, creating a duopoly on the award between 2008 and 2017.
That run was broken in 2018, with Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric lifting the prize and Messi controversially finishing fifth in the voting.
“I heard the nominees for the Ballon d’Or and I knew I wasn’t in the fight,” Messi said.
“I love football, but family is above all,” the Argentine added.
