APC ex-spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi to run for Kwara governor

The immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has joined the governorship race in Kwara State.
Abdullahi made the announcement during an annual Sallah get together at his house in Ilorin.
He will run under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and may likely get the ticket considering his closeness to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the leader of the party in the state.
Abdullahi will seek to succeed incumbent two-term Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Abdullahi dumped the APC on Wednesday August 1, 2018.
Two days later, he announced that he had dropped President Muhammadu Buhari’s board appointment.
The former Minister was recently appointed spokesman of the coalition seeking to defeat his former party and President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
Abdullahi is now the head of Media and Publicity committee of the newly formed Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).
The committee has Kazeem Afegbua and Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesman of the PDP as members.
Abdullahi’s committee was among the several others inaugurated on August 6 in Abuja by the steering committee of CUPP.

How Sir Alex Ferguson Scolded Me For Doing Too Many Stepovers - Ronaldo Reveals

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson scolded him at the start of his career - for too many stepovers, EuroSports reports.
Ronaldo signed for Manchester United in 2003, spending six years there and winning three Premier League titles as well as the Champions League.
"Of course, in the beginning of my career he was so important to me because I moved from Sporting to Manchester and had that Portuguese mentality – too many stepovers, decision making was not the best," the 33-year-old told DAZN.
"So he taught me how to do it. In the Premier League they don't fall over so easy, they are tough.
"As I've said many times, he taught me everything. He was like a father to me. He helped me a lot at Manchester United."
He moved from United to Real Madrid, where he spent almost a decade before his switch to Juventus this summer.

PDP does not have corrupt-free person like Buhari – Onochie

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, on Thursday mocked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying the party can never have a corrupt-free person like the current President.
Onochie said this while reeling out the battle Buhari was fighting to revive the economy.
The Presidential aide, who took to her Twitter handle disclosed that Buhari was fighting “fraud, indiscipline, corruption, squandermania and abuse of public office for selfish aggrandizement.”
Onochie also commended her principal for his achievements and urged Nigerians to support Buhari in his fight against corruption.
“Fraud, indiscipline, corruption, squandermania and abuse of public office for selfish aggrandizement
“He is still fighting these vices today as he did Decades ago. He was considered free from corruption decades ago. Today, he is still free from corruption. PDP does not have @MBuhari, we do!”

APC, PDP tango over alleged attack on Akpabio

Akpabio
By Harris-Okon Emmanuel
UYO—All Progressives Congress, APC,  has advanced reasons why Senator Godswill Akpabio was being attacked by the opposition party, saying that the fear of losing the forthcoming general election  was the reason the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, allegedly masterminded the series of attacks on him.
But the PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Iniobong Ememobong,  denied the party’s involvement in the alleged attack.
Ememobong said the PDP was busy campaigning for the next polls than to dwell on the defection of the former Senate Minority Leader, describing his exit from PDP as inconsequential to the fortunes of the party in 2019 polls.
‘’We are preparing for the general election. We have just finished our endorsement rallies in three senatorial districts. We have respect for him and he should also have respect for us,” Ememobong said.
But the APC maintained that sponsoring violent attacks on the senator and any other of its leaders or members in the state would not save PDP from the imminent ‘’tsunami and we wouldn’t condone it.”
In  a  statement by the Chairman, APC National Youth Caucus, Akwa Ibom Chapter, Obong Iniobong John, while commending the Police for prompt response, said that the security agents should know those to hold responsible should anything happen to any APC leader or operative in the state.
In a separate development, the police in the state, has insisted that there was no attack on Akpabio, saying: “There was no attack on the person or residence of Senator Akpabio,  and no one was hurt in the neighbourhood. It was purely an armed robbery incident which was aborted by the timely intervention of the police.”
Odiko MacDon, State Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement, said: “The Command wishes to inform the general public that on 21/08/2018 about 7:20p.m., six armed men on three motorcycles went to GulfSafrin filling station located at IkotNtuen inUkana, not far away from Senator Akpabio’s residence under the pretence of buying fuel. Shortly after, however, they displayed their true criminal intent by dispossessing some customers and fuel attendants of their valuables and cash, shooting sporadically into the air.
“The hoodlums were however,  repelled by Policemen on duty.  Coincidentally, the senator was having a meeting at his residence about the same time. The gun shots were wrongly presumed by some persons to have been directed at the senator’s house.”

Buhari carpets his critics, APC chieftains who joined PDP

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Daura said the combined efforts of defectors and their supporters in the opposition will not distract his administration from the good work it is doing for the benefit and development of Nigeria.
Many top members of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in recent weeks.
But Buhari insisted that APC has the full understanding of Nigeria’s challenges and is encouraged by the support of Nigerians in addressing them.
The President spoke at a lunch with some APC Governors accompanied by some members of the National and State Assemblies and commissioners.
“We are always encouraged when all our constituents are happy with the work we are doing and our genuine efforts to make sure that what we campaigned for in 2015 is still very much in our minds and we have not lost focus.
“In terms of security, economy and the fight against corruption, we have maintained focus. Even the opposition with all their resources cannot fault our identification of Nigeria’s priorities and the efforts being made to better them.
“We will continue to do what we ought to do in the leadership position God has placed us and we thank the constituents for the support,” he said.
On the defections within the major political parties, the President reiterated his earlier message to them: ‘‘for those who have decided to change camp for whatever reason, we wish them good luck.’’
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State commended the President for his great efforts in keeping the nation together through visionary leadership.
He noted that President Buhari had remained focused and unshaken by situations and circumstances, adding that, ‘‘it shows that your administration is approved by God.’’
Okorocha told the President, ‘‘We are here to encourage you to keep doing what you are doing as Nigerians are very pleased with you.
‘‘We also want to inform you that we had wonderful and peaceful Sallah celebration across the country because of security of lives and property you have guaranteed in our nation.’’
Governor Okorocha was accompanied by the Governors of Katsina, Kebbi, Kano and Niger States.

Saraki: Middle Belt Forum blows hot, warns Buhari over Miyetti Allah

The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to call Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) to order.
MBF said this in reaction to threat to Senate President, Bukola Saraki by an official of association.
MACBAN Coordinator in Benue State, Alhaji Garus Gololo, had stated that Saraki would be forced out of office if he refused to resign his position immediately.
Gololo claimed that Saraki had created numerous problems for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Reacting via a statement on Thursday, Ndi Kato, MBF Coordinator of Public Communication, lamented that the statement was made in Benue where lives and property of countless indigenes have been lost to attacks by herdsmen.
It reads: “As a result of these targeted attacks on Benue and most states in the Middle Belt, our region is knee deep in a mismanaged humanitarian crisis spanning several states.
“This threat by the leadership of Miyetti Allah is not only insulting, it is inciting and we believe, issued with the intention to heat up the polity.
“The Middle Belt Forum has observed the consistency with which leaders of Miyetti Allah expend inciting statements on National issues well beyond their reach and we are at the juncture where we must stand firm and insist ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Miyetti Allah must be called to order!
“Nigerians cannot understand the root of this audacity by Miyetti Allah to pour fuel on National issues from the heavy loss of human lives in several parts of our nation to sensitive political issues.
“Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki is not only the Senate President but the highest office holder in the Middle Belt.
“A threat to his office by non-political actors is a threat to democracy; a threat to his person is a threat to the leadership of our region.
“The entire Middle Belt is currently grappling for stability in the midst of chaos, land grabbing and mass killings.
“We call on well-meaning Nigerians to rebuke such statements and the intentions behind them as these are direct threats to our democracy.
“We call on our National Security Agencies to in the interest of National Peace and stability, invite Alhaji Garus Gololo for questioning.
“Finally, we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to put his foot down against such rhetoric in the interest of our nation.”

Power Sector Lost N324.3b In Eight Months

File Photo
New data from the advisory power team in the office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has shown that the power sector has lost N324.3bilion this year, due to gas constraints and poor distribution network.
According to the latest power generation report, 3,700megawatts (Mw) of electricity could not be generated on August 20 due to unavailability of gas, poor transmission and distribution network, and high frequency.
As a result, the sector lost N1.786billion same day. A report by the advisory power team in June showed that the sector lost N201billion revenue in 6 months — from January 1 and June 5.
The data indicated that a total of N201,298,000,000 loss was recorded due to repeated shortfalls in gas supply to power generation companies (GenCos), the inability of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to effectively transport electricity from GenCos and operational limitations of power distribution companies (DisCos).
The Executive Secretary, Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC), Joy Ogaji, warned of likely nationwide blackout over the inability of the TCN to transmit available volume of electricity generated into the national grid.
She complained that load shedding and power fluctuations in the country had resulted in low efficiency in the power system, adding that TCN could only transmit an average of 3985.15Mw, 53 per cent of the available capacity of 7484.88Mw produced daily by the GenCos.

Bombings: Stop chasing shadows, Osuntokun replies presidency

Former presidential aide and director-general of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Mr. Akin Osuntokun has rebuffed challenges to his patriotism by the presidency saying that such allusions meant leaving substantive issues to chase shadows.

He spoke in response to a claim by presidential aide, Femi Adesina that claims by Osuntokun in a television programme about bomb explosion in Maiduguri on Sallah Day were false. The statement had gone further to charge Nigerians not to be taken in by the narratives of those it called naysayers in the mould of Osuntokun.
But responding last night, in a statement, Mr. Osuntokun said:
“It is just another demonstration of the penchant of this government for leaving the substance to chase shadows. Ok 68 people were killed in a borno village rather than 88 in Maiduguri. At the frequency of the prevailing dispensation of daily bloodletting who wouldn’t get the specifics and details mixed up.
“I’m not the red cross who has the institutional capacity to keep every detail of these crimes against humanity. Does it matter that 68 were killed in Maimalari rather than 88 in Maiduguri and we are talking of the same day. Does this mix up make me the enemy of the people rather than Femi Adesina who threatened Nigerians to concede their land to terrorists at the pain of being murdered?
“Does it make me more a liar than president Buhari who repeatedly claimed that the price of crude oil per barrel had been over 100 dollars since 1999? In public accountability Who should the country worry more about between me and those who hold the reins of government who are pointing attention at the speck in my eyes while ignoring the beam lodged permanently in their eyesight?
“Further to what I have said, the two incidents happened the same day-and they occur with such frequency that it is difficult to keep pace with the orgy of bloodletting all over the country almost on a daily basis. Take note that he made no mention of the one reported by Reuters on the same day-that 68 people died. If I’m the enemy of the people by highlighting the failure of the government, what then do you call a government under whose dispensation Nigeria has become an abattoir.
“Whether it is 68 or 88 people that were killed should a serious and humane government be quibbling about figures? This is yet another confirmation of the cruel and blundering insensitivity of this government-ignoring leprosy while chasing after guinea worm-as the Yoruba would say. And remember this is a government that claimed it has defeated Boko Haram since two years ago.”
Chief Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity had in a statement in Abuja, said there was no bomb blast on Sallah Day contrary to the allegation by a member of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement, CNN, that claimed the lives of about 88 people.
Adesina in the statement said, “On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, Akin Oshuntokun, a chieftain of the stillborn Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM), appeared on Politics Today programme of Channels Television, and made the false claim that a bomb blast had gone off earlier in the day, killing about 88 people in Maiduguri, Borno State.
“Oshuntokun, a newspaper columnist and public affairs commentator, has never hidden his antipathy towards the Muhammadu Buhari administration, but to go on national television and tell lies of the most heinous kind betrays a mind taken completely over by ill wishes against his own country.
“Sallah Day had passed quietly and peacefully, without even a firecracker going off, let alone bomb blast. That was contrary to what used to happen before the advent of the Buhari administration, when such festivals were turned to orgy of killings in many parts of the country by insurgents.
Apparently, enemies of peace and progress had expected a return to the infamous past, thus Oshuntokun appeared on television with his bag of lies.
“When those on the programme remonstrated with him that they were not aware of any bomb blast on that day, he stood his ground, all in a futile bid to puncture the successes recorded by government in the area of security.
“Till the Sallah holidays ended, no bomb blast was recorded in any part of the country, to the shame and discomfiture of the naysayers.”
Continuing, the presidential spokesman said, “One wonders: if there were bomb blasts, and more than 80 people truly died, what would be the gain of anybody, except those who have become blinded by malediction and morbid wishes? Is carnage something now to glory about? Is the struggle for power now so ghoulish that some people have lost their humanity over it?
“Oshuntokun and his ilk should realize that this is the only country we have, and we can’t swallow poison and expect it to kill the next person. What we sow is what we reap.
“Happily, however, those for a peaceful, united and cohesive Nigeria are more than those against it. That is why those with baleful, hateful thoughts would never win.
“The tripod goals of securing the country, fighting corruption, and reviving the economy are central to the Buhari administration. Government is making strides in the three areas, and the conquests continue.”

Niger beefs up border watch after ‘refugee influx’ from Nigeria

The Sahel state of Niger said Thursday it had sent security reinforcements to part of its border struggling with an influx of displaced people and criminals from neighbouring Nigeria.

Nigeria
The measures have been taken in the Maradi area on the southern-central part of the border, which abuts the northwestern Nigerian state of Zamfara.
“We are currently registering many refugees, whole families who are coming over,” Maradi Governor Zakari Oumarou told state television.
“We are (also) facing a new situation, of kidnappings for ransom.”
The “refugees” were mainly coming from Zamfara, he said, but did not give numbers or say why they were fleeing to Niger.
“We are in the process of focussing on security on our border. We have deployed plenty of units on the border and we will continue to do so.”
Oumara added: “We are going to continue to receive refugees, but there are bad people among them. So we will have to filter them, and we are doing that.”
Local communities should “take extreme care… and be vigilant,” he said.
Northeastern Nigeria is in the grip of a jihadist insurgency that has also spread into Niger, but cross-border problems from Zamfara, in the northwest, have typically been rare.
A Maradi resident told AFP that regions all along the border with Nigeria were now prone to cross-frontier crime, particular cattle theft by “armed Nigerian gangs.”

How Children In Britain Are Brutally Tortured After Being Accused Of Witchcraft (Photos)

Mardoche, as a child, spent two years being accused of witchcraft by his relatives

Mardoche Yembi was like any other eight-year-old boy: he loved football and played in goal for a youth team in Tottenham, North London, and enjoyed spending time with his friends at school.
But he was hiding a secret.
He'd been sent to live with his aunt and uncle from the Democratic Republic of Congo after his mother passed away - but at this new home in Islington his relatives were accusing him of being a witch and seriously abusing him.
Mardoche, now 26, was subjected to two years of exorcisms where pastors tried to coax the demons out of him through repetitive prayer, he tells Sun Online.
He was starved to the point where he would search for dropped coins on the street to secretly buy food, sleep-deprived and threatened by his aunt and uncle.
A young child undergoing an exorcism ritual, where powder is rubbed into cuts
They even pulled a knife on him and said they'd kill him if he didn't stop being a witch.
His relatives burned his precious possessions, including football medals and certificates, saying that he was using these to be able to gain enough power to fly.
But Mardoche is not alone in suffering this type of abuse in the UK.
Thousands of children are being put through these horrifying exorcisms - and they are taking place behind closed doors in flats, houses and churches on Britain's streets.
What's more, they're on the rise. Earlier this year, the Department of Education released figures showing there were over 1,400 child abuse cases across the UK that were linked to witchcraft and demonic possession beliefs between 2016 and 2017 - a 900% rise since 2011.
Victoria Climbie was born in the Ivory Coast but came to live in London. She was tortured and murdered because her guardians thought she was 'possessed'
And experts fear many more are flying under the radar as police and social services are too scared to intervene.
Beliefs in witchcraft are still strongly-held within some communities in Central and Western African countries including Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa and Mardoche's homeland, the DRC - and they have extended overseas to the UK.
Football stars Isaac Success and Emmanuel Adebayor have blamed injuries and goal droughts on curses.
Children's eyes are obstructed so that they don't communicate with Lucifer
And the tragic case of Victoria Climbié - the eight-year-old Ivorian girl who was murdered by relatives in Tottenham who believed she was possessed by demons - still haunts the country 18 years on.
Chilli burned into eyes, left without water for days and cut with knives
The most recent figures are just "the tip of the iceberg" according to experts such as Dr. Richard Hoskins, who has been researching African ritual crime for 15 years.
As part of his research, Dr Hoskins has travelled to several African countries and witnessed disturbing exorcisms over there and in the UK.
"In the least invasive ones, children are typically made to abstain from eating and drinking water too," he says.
"The witchcraft - or kindoki as it is known there - will be shouted out to come out of the child in the name of Jesus, and the pastor might shake them too."
A 'session of deliverance' in a church in the Congo
These types of exorcisms is similar to what Mardoche experienced in churches and at home.
"I was pulled out of school and made to fast and kept up for days without sleep," he tells Sun Online.
"I was accused of flying in the night, killing my mother, putting curses on my family and even eating babies for dinner.
"I was so frightened I'd be too scared to leave my bedroom to go to the toilet. I'd wee in a bowl and pour it on the carpet but this made things worse as children who wet themselves are often accused of being possessed."
Mardoche says he became "withdrawn" and felt he had no-one as his father was in the DRC.
"My relatives were clever. Although I was threatened, I wasn't beaten up. They were careful not to get caught.
"They took me to several pastors and advised me that the situation with my possession was so serious I would need to be sent back to the DRC."
Kirsty Bamu was found dead in a bathtub after an exorcism went too far
Thankfully, his school contacted social services. He ended up spending three months in a psychiatric unit as he became suicidal, before being placed in foster care.
He is one of the lucky ones - if he'd returned to the DRC it is likely he would have died due to the brutal exorcisms performed there.
There, children are sliced by razor blades and knives in order to "cut out" the witchcraft, and have chilli pepper rubbed in their eyes.
Dr Hoskins says: "I also saw a little girl who was emaciated due to being starved for days - she'd also not been given any water despite the boiling heat. She was almost at death's door."
Drowned in the bath
Sometimes, children are pushed to "the brink of death" during exorcisms.
Occasionally the perpetrators cross the line and end up killing the children in the process.
This is what happened to 15-year-old Kristy Bamu, who was found dead in a bathtub in a council flat in East London on Christmas Day 2010.
He had been staying with his sister Magalie Bamu and her boyfriend Eric Bakubi, when he was accused of bringing kindoki into their home.
Magalie Bamu and boyfriend Eric Bikubi were jailed six years ago for the murder of Kristy Bamu
Kristy sustained 130 separate injuries after being attacked with an armoury of weapons - including metal bars and ceramic floor tiles smashed over his head - over a three-day period of exorcisms.
He died due to drowning after being submerged in the bath towards the end of the ceremony.
While in 2001, the torso of a young African boy, known only as 'Adam' was found floating in the River Thames. He is believed to have been the victim of a brutal exorcism ritual.
No action because of political correctness
And Dr Hoskins says there could be many more cases of children that have been murdered that have gone unreported.
"Nobody is really sure how many cases there really are - of this kind of abuse and also children dying from it - because nobody wants to tackle it," he says.
"If you talk to anyone from these communities, they will say that pastors are pushing witchcraft beliefs on families.
"But because it is a belief system there's a perpetual fear [from the authorities] of stepping on people's toes and causing offence."
Half of UK police forces don't even record incidents and many local authorities are also unable to provide figures.
"We haven't got past this political correctness when dealing with these case," adds Dr Hoskins.
"Because it is related to a belief system you hear from the Met police officers or even social services that they aren't here to tackle beliefs, so nothing is done to stop it.
"But there needs to be a change because these belief systems tip over into abuse."
Roots in fundamentalist Christianity
Dr Hoskins says the witchcraft belief has roots in fundamentalist Christianity - where the words of the Bible are taken literally - and with traditional West and Central African superstitions beliefs.
"There's a passage in the Bible that says sometimes a demon will be cast out and find seven more powerful ones, so even children that undergo exorcisms can be dragged through the whole system again a few months down the line," he says.
But why is it children that are targeted?
"It is scapegoating, plain and simple," explains Dr Hoskins. "Years ago, it was older women - the 'old crones' who were branded witches.
"Many of these African countries have seen major problems in the last few years, such as civil war, economic deprivation and corruption - and when things go wrong in people's lives they will blame a weaker party.
"There's overpopulation too - I've had people in these countries say to me that they can't afford to keep their children so they will force the idea of witchcraft on them in order to drive them out on the streets."
'I wanted to die'
This 10-year-old was attacked by her aunt who thought she was a witch
Many children don't recover from the trauma of their abuse. "I've had them tell me their lives have been destroyed," says Dr Hoskins.
Mardoche is one of the lucky ones: taken out of his abusive home, he built up his confidence through continuing to play football and now is a motivational speaker.
He also works with various organisations to help teach people to spot the signs of children being accused of kindoki, and a film about his life, called Branded, will be released this autumn.
However, he still lives with the effects of his experience.
"I find it difficult to get close to, and trust, other people," he admits. "And at the time, I wanted to die. "When you're constantly told you're evil, that you're to blame for your mother's death you start to believe it. It's not something that is easy to get over."
"My heart sinks every time I hear of another child being accused of being a witch," adds Dr Hoskins.
"The Government needs to take action to protect these young people and outlaw this belief system - we need criminal sentences for these pastors as what they are doing is abuse.
"We take a hard stance on terrorism in the name of religion, so there is no reason for us not to outlaw this. It leaves children mentally, emotionally and physically scarred for life."

Buhari administration ordained by God – Okorocha

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Thursday said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was “divinely ordained.”
Okorocha said this when he and some governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid the President a visit in his hometown in Daura, Katsina State.
A statement by Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu said the governor also commended the President for his efforts in uniting the country and for “being focused and unshaken” by situations, this he said “shows that your administration is approved by God”.
The statement quoted Okorocha as saying, “We are here to encourage you to keep doing what you are doing you as Nigerians are very, very pleased with you.
“We also want to inform you that we had wonderful and peaceful Sallah celebration across the country because of security of lives and property you have guaranteed in our nation.”

3 robbery suspects burnt to death in Calabar

CALABAR—Three suspected armed robbers were in the early hours of Thursday burnt to death by unknown persons in Calabar South Local Government Area, LGA of Cross River for alleged robbery and sundry crimes in the locality.

Vanguard learned that residents of the area woke up to see the charred remains of three young men burnt beyond recognition at various locations in the area.
The incident Vanguard gathered, occurred in three different locations including popular Ekpo-Abasi in front of CRUTECH gate, Ekpo Abasi by Yellow Duke Street and Umoh Orok Street all in Calabar South LGA of the state.
However, investigations showed that it was a coordinated operation by a vigilante group in the area because of the consistent robbery attacks.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that for about a year now, some boys have been disturbing the peace of their neighbourhood and operate by moving in groups of 30, sometimes with vehicles.
He said: “We have been on their trail, monitoring them and their modus operandi. We are also aware some of the gang members come from Atakpa Street, Commercial Street and some part of Jebbs to operate at Ekpo Abasi and environment, because you must have insiders who know the route and the area very well for them to succeed.
“Most times they number up to 30 and even come with vans to pack their loot.
“We decided to organise ourselves. Based on the information we had, we alerted other vigilantes in the area to be on the lookout and we were ready for them at different points to make sure they did not escape.
“We got three of them and we did not spare them because that was what we have decided.
“Over time, we discovered that when they are handed over to the Police, its either they are released on bail or set free by the court in no time.
“So they were severely dealt with and burnt beyond recognition to serve as a deterrent to others who are still in the area, because we know there are still many of them here. We believe that they have got our message that there won’t be any sacred cow this time.
“We know that the Police is trying, the state government is also doing its best. But they are lacking in terms of personnel.”
Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, said it was unfortunate that jungle justice was applied in that manner to bring the three suspects to book, saying they should have been handed over to the Police.

We Weren't Prepared For Fierce Battle With Competitors - TSTV Addresses Nigerians

In a statement released on Wednesday, indiginous Nigerian telcomm satellite television, TSTV, said it has faced severe battle from other operators in the industry for the past 10 months, adding that the company had been fighting off enemies pitched against it.
The Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, TStv Africa, Bright Echefu, who made the disclosure in the statement, said that since it announced the commencement of its operations on November 1, 2017, the company had been embroiled in different wars.
While appreciating the concerns and prayers of Nigerians, Echefu acknowledged the power of God in winning the battle and announced the formal commencement of its operations starting from August 20, 2018.
He said the fight for survival had affected the company financially and its relationship with subscribers, satellite providers and dealers, adding, “It has not been easy one bit. We were wrestled even down to our satellite providers but our God is ever faithful.”
“I sincerely appreciate all your concerns and prayers for our darling TStv. From the date we announced TStv, it has been fight all the way. I doubt if a week passed without us quenching one fire or the other. We didn’t anticipate that there would be war. We were also not trained to fight in the arena we were pushed into,” he said.
Echefu added, “The kind of weapons our enemies would later contend us with showed they had stocked their armoury waiting for a time like now. We may not have their kind of money, neither their kinds of weapons, ‘connections’ and network but one thing I sure know we had more than them was a determined spirit and a steadfast God.”

"Dear Nigerians,

I sincerely appreciate all your concerns and prayers for our darling TSTV. From the date we announced TSTV, it has been fight all the way. I doubt if a week passed without us quenching one fire or the other. We didn’t anticipate that there would be war. We were also not trained to fight in the arena we were pushed into.
The kinds of weapons our enemies would later contend us with, showed they had stocked their armoury waiting for a time like now. We may not have their kind of money, neither their kinds of weapons, ''connections'' and networks but one thing I sure know we had more than them was a determined spirit and a steadfast God. A God who doesn’t fail.

It has not been easy one bit. Our struggles drained us financially and pitched us against all good meaning Nigerians, subscribers and dealers that believed in us. We were wrestled even down to our satellite providers but our God is ever faithful.

Today 20th of August, 2018, I am happy to inform Nigerians that TSTV is back live and direct but this time under the watch of Abba Father.

Man begins trek from Lagos to Abuja as protest against Buhari

President Buhari

A Nigerian man, Mohammed Isa, Thursday, Thursday started a long trek from Lagos to Abuja in protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The 28-year-old while expressing his displeasure for Buhari and APC was seen carrying a mini coffin bearing the inscription of Nigeria ruling Party All Progressives Congress while speaking to journalists at Otedola Bridge Lagos.
“I’m trekking now because they have failed Nigeria and Nigerians and I want Nigerians to know that even I, who believed so much in their government and put my health at risk by embarking on the trek is rejecting their government and that is why I’m carrying a coffin of the APC to deposit it at any mortuary within Abuja because the APC is dead already.”
Isa, a Borno State indigene, said the APC government has been unable to deliver on most of its campaign promises.
“They promised us heaven and earth but gave us hell,” Isa lamented.
“They promised that fuel will be N45 Naira per litre but it’s now N145 Naira; they promised to create three million jobs in one year but they have not been able to create even 500,000 jobs in three years,” he added.
Although Isa said he was not pleased with the APC government, he, however, said he will not be voting the opposition People’s Democratic Party in the next general elections.
“I am very angry at everyone in the APC and I will not vote for anybody from APC or PDP because they are all the same” Isa said.
