Wayne Rooney & DC United
Wayne Rooney’s Premier League career is over.
Man United’s all-time record goalscorer spent one year back at Everton last season.
Despite scoring 11 Premier League goals for Everton, Rooney has now moved to DC United.
Rooney agreed a two and a half year contract to play for DC United.
Leo Messi > Cristiano Ronaldo
Rooney has appeared on the ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast this week.
During the Q&A, Rooney was asked to say who is better: Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Without a moment’s pause, Rooney listed Messi above Ronaldo.
Yet when it came for Rooney’s explanation, the forward struggled to give any convincing reasons why he snubbed his former Man United team mate
Rooney starts with a win
Wayne Rooney came off the bench last weekend to make his DC United and MLS debut.
When Rooney signed for DC United, they were the worst team in the MLS.
After 12 rounds of the MLS season, DC United only had 10 points on the board. They were five points behind second-bottom Toronto FC.
But Rooney helped inspire his new club to win last weekend against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Rooney set up Paul Arriola for DC’s third goal of the game. Arriola scored a brace after Yamil Asad opened.
DC United remain bottom of their league. However they’ve closed the gap on Toronto to just two points.
