OWERRI—SENATOR Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday said he was on the same page with the southeast zone on restructuring.
Kwankwaso spoke at the Imo State secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, when he came to woo delegates and party leadership on his 2019 presidential ambition.
The former governor of Kano State argued that even at the last national conference, he spoke in favour of the issue of restructuring.
He said: “On the 29th of this month, I will officially decalare my intention for presidency. It will take place at Eagles Square,Abuja. I thank you so much for raising this issue of restructuring. I am a Nigerian and democratic. The issue of restructuring has been in the front burner. Even in the national conference, I listened and I participated.
“Everybody has his own version of restructuring. Many want devolution of powers, resource control and many other things.
“But what I want to assure you is that we will listen to Nigerians.”
I am on the same page with the Igbo on restructuring. We will do the necessary things to better Nigeria.”
Among the party leaders who spoke was Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, he pleaded with the delegates of the party ahead of the party’s primaries to desist from collecting money from aspirants that they would not vote for.
“Our plan is that PDP, will come out of this primaries more united and prepare to correct the mistakes in this country,” he said.
